The NDSC More Alike poster gallery was raided by unsavory individuals. We have been successful in getting the offending on-line forum taken down and continue to explore options for additional action with our legal team.

Immediately after we became aware of this situation, we removed the More Alike poster gallery from the NDSC web site and, in the process, made web access to the posters and images impossible. That interrupted the voting for the poster contest.

Many participating families have urged a reopening of the gallery and resumption of voting, but others have asked that their posters be removed.  Many of those had received contest votes, but would not be able to compete if we resumed the contest.

That would not be fair.

Therefore, the National Down Syndrome Congress is ending the contest. We will tally the 4,500+ votes cast up until the gallery was taken down on Thursday, March 11, to determine winners.

Finally, the posters you and so many others created are an important part of our national awareness campaign. The aim of the campaign is to change the very kind of attitudes which spawned this unfortunate episode. Therefore, we are exploring every possible avenue that may allow us to make the More Alike poster gallery accessible once again.

Make Your Own More Alike Poster

Make your family member or friend with Down syndrome famous.

Send us a photo and your version of the More Alike campaign headline “Who’s a better baseball fan, you or me?” together with brief text that answers the question.

We’ll create an 11 X 17 poster using what you send and return to you by email a high resolution PDF of your poster you can take to any printer to reproduce and distribute.

So, if your friend or family member, loves music, your headline might read: “Who’s a bigger Dylan fan, you or me?” If she just graduated it might read, “Who’s a better scholar, you or me?”

You get the idea.

And, you can feature anything that seems big – your baby’s first steps, your son’s Special Olympics gold medal, your daughter’s softball single, birthdays, whatever.

We have to ask you to be brief. Use just a few words in the headline and keep the text to no more than 200 characters.

Once you receive your completed poster, print as many as possible and get them out in your community. Take them to your doctor’s office, school, community center, church, library and ask that they be posted. You will be amazed at the results!

Click here to submit your poster request via an automated email form. To get your poster into production, fill it out, attach your snapshot and click on send. You will receive your completed poster in no time.
