Have your Heart Warmed in the Heartland

For 35 years, the NDSC National Convention has been a place to share, learn, recharge and renew – a place of belonging for self advocates and families.

Folks compare our Convention to a giant family reunion where lives are touched, relationships made and renewed, and warmth infuses the gathering. Self advocates are empowered. Siblings share honestly. Parents have an unparalleled opportunity to learn from renowned speakers and share with one another.

It’s fitting that this anniversary convention is being held in America’s heartland. Come and share a special weekend in a place where you belong.

Energetic and rich in history, Kansas City brims with activity – eclectic cuisine, world-renowned jazz, museums, a thriving arts scene and fantastic shopping. Part of the charm is its beauty, with impressive boulevards, spacious parks and, of course, fountains. More than 100 establishments offer the city’s signature barbecue, plus you’ll delight in restaurants of every ethnic origin. This is a city passionate about the arts with outstanding classical music, ballet, theater and opera.
