General Convention

This is where it all starts, a unique gathering of people with Down syndrome, their families and the professionals who support them. For 36 years, the NDSC has gathered us to learn, meet and celebrate all we have achieved.

From Friday’s pre-conference workshops, through plenary sessions and workshops, the NDSC convention is about infor- mation. It’s provided by the experts from those who pioneered in early child- hood communication, redefined the K-12 class- room and on to those on the frontier of adult challenges. Put simply, the greatest challenge may be what to take in amid such riches.

That makes it sound as if it’s all work. It’s not. We launch with a joyous and sometimes noisy reception and cap the weekend with our annual awards banquet, followed by the post-banquet dance.

Power of the Dream - Opening Reception hosted by the Massachuesets Down Syndrome Congress

In celebration of its 25th Anniversary, the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress is hosting a reception to welcome you to Boston in grand style. The reception will include recognition awards and a premier performance of The Gift by the Boston Ballet’s Adaptive Dance Program with music by Aaron Copeland and choreography by Gianni DiMarco. Come mingle with new and old friends, relax, and enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
