Registration Deadlines

This year’s convention is expected to be the largest in recent history; therefore registration may be capped. Please register early to ensure your participation.

Youth & Adults with Down Syndrome Conference

The NDSC Youth & Adults Conference is the convention’s fastest growing dimension. It’s specially designed, presented and attended by self advocates. The conference features workshops, panel discussions and presentations on subjects ranging from healthy eating to relationships. It is fun, enriching and empowering — with more than 50 volunteers to lend support.

The Youth & Adults Conference is coordinated by Carlene Mattson, a parent, educator and NDSC board member. Advocate Andy Bean, also a parent of a son with Down syndrome, and educator Claire Odermann help facilitate the conference.

Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Don’t miss out, send in your registration by June 2nd.

Please note these important details:

  • The NDSC Youth & Adults Conference’s popularity is fueled by the care taken to allow all people with Down syndrome to grow, share and shine.
  • To properly support all, the NDSC gathers information allowing us to match individuals with volunteers. After registering, you will be sent an information packet. Please return the packet by June 2nd. While labor intensive for you, this allows us to provide appropriate support to all.
  • Because of our commitment to self advocates, we cannot accept on-site registration.
  • Scholarships are available for those who could not attend otherwise. Complete information is available through the NDSC Center.

Those attending the Y&A Conference will:

  • Gain empowering self-advocacy skills
  • Participate in fun workshops led by people with Down syndrome
  • Have an opportunity to participate in a talent show enjoyed by ALL Y&A conference attendees
  • Build new, lasting friendships with peers from all over the nation and
