NDSC Encourages Americans to Take a “Causecation”

The National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC), a leading provider of information, support and advocacy for individuals with Down syndrome and their families, is inviting Americans to consider taking a Causecation when planning their getaways this summer. A Causecation involves families and individuals traveling to a location or event that will enable them to learn more about and participate in activities related to a valued cause or issue, while enjoying the fun of a traditional vacation.

The idea for widespread national Causecations stems from feedback the NDSC receives during its Annual Convention, the largest yearly gathering of the North American Down syndrome community. Many of the more than 3,000 attendees make a trip to the Convention their family’s summer vacation to not only participate in a variety of relevant workshops and discover the latest developments for individuals with Down syndrome, but as an opportunity to travel around the country and enjoy the celebrations and activities the Convention additionally offers with fellow friends and families.
