Bridget Smith has a background in education research and policy, with a special interest in how parents and families become advocates for their loved ones with Down syndrome. Before coming to the NDSC, Bridget worked as a research assistant in special education technology at the University of Kansas, for an education policy and strategy group in Washington, D.C., and most recently volunteered at a disability education center in Malawi. Bridget earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Politics and Education Studies from Oberlin College and her Masters in International Education from the University of Cambridge. Growing up with a brother with Down syndrome, Bridget has attended several NDSC conventions and is excited to help make this year’s Y&A conference great!
