Connections Reception

City View Terrace and 3rd Floor Pre-function Area

Whether this is your first NDSC Convention or your fortieth, attendees looking to connect with others who share similar experiences can kick off the weekend together at the Connections Reception. Light snacks and a cash bar will be available as you network with peers and plan your convention strategy.

Connection Circles, 8:00 – 9:00 PM
Join a connection circle for an opportunity to meet your peers and share joys, concerns and strategies with others. It’s best to attend without your child with DS to allow parents to express their feelings with comfort and ease.

The following circles will be offered:

  • Mothers Only (all ages) – City View Room 318, 3rd Floor
  • Fathers Only (all ages) – City View Room 316, 3rd Floor
  • Parents of Adults – City View Room 315, 3rd Floor
  • Grandparents Only – City View Room 320, 3rd Floor
  • Adult Siblings Only – City View Room 321, 3rd Floor
  • Co-Occurring DS-ASD – Complex Behaviors – City View Room 317, 3rd Floor
  • Pre-registration is not required. All attendees are welcome to network at their leisure.

    On Friday evening, the Opening Plenary Session officially launches the weekend’s events. This general session features inspirational Keynote Presentations by self-advocates and advocates in the Down syndrome community who present on topics of broad interest. We are excited to welcome our champion of the evening, Amy Bockerstette, self-advocate and golfer extraordinaire.

    Opening Reception and 321 Dance!™

    Opening Reception and 321 Dance!™

    Hall C, 2nd Floor

    Following our Opening Plenary Session Friday, we move into the Opening Reception and the 321 Dance™! It will be an evening filled with energy and excitement. The Opening Reception includes a cash bar and complimentary desserts. Here families from around the globe gather to begin an exciting weekend together.

    The night also includes our 321 Dance™ – a celebration of all people with DS in our lives. The 321 Dance Theme this year is Jersey Night. So make sure to wear your favorite team’s sport jersey and be prepared to dance the night way.

    On Saturday evening, the NDSC will host its annual Saturday Night Dinner. This is a ticketed event, which includes a plated dinner and ambient entertainment throughout the evening.

    Ticket is required for attendance and must be purchased during registration.
    Tickets will not be sold on-site.

    Immediately following the Saturday Night Dinner, there will be an awesome opportunity for all attendees to dance the night away.

    There is no ticket required for this event.
    Doors open at the conclusion of the dinner, approximately 8:30 pm
