Extending Convention From Your Couch Through July 12
It is hard to believe that we are in the final days of the NDSC Convention From Your Couch. Although nothing can replace attending an NDSC Convention in-person, we hope that you have found the virtual event provided information, resources, and connections that are useful for you and your family.
If you have not attended Convention From Your Couch and would like access to the private channel with nearly 7 weeks of programming, we are extending the viewing channel access through July 12. The details to gain access are below.
Saturday, June 27, we will wrap up this year’s convention. We have a jam-packed day planned beginning with advocacy training for parents, professionals, and of course, self-advocates. This session is open to everyone. Registration for Convention From Your Couch is not required. We will celebrate those who are making a difference in the Down syndrome community, hold our annual membership meeting, then hang out with the star of “The Peanut Butter Falcon,” Zack Gottsagen. We hear that Zack will be joined by a few friends from the movie also! It wouldn’t be an NDSC Convention without a dance. Please plan to join us for the 321 Zoom Dance Party to close out the 48th NDSC Convention, then let the countdown begin to Phoenix!

1:00 to 3:00 PM ET – Advocacy Training Boot Camp
Open to anyone interested in learning more about advocacy
Aimed at beginner advocates, this two-hour session will provide information from effective self-advocates, parent advocates, and the expert NDSC Policy & Advocacy Team. Learn what advocacy is, the basics of the legislative process, how to engage and build relationships with elected officials, and how to utilize social media in your advocacy efforts.
