JOB DESCRIPTION

Overall responsibility:
National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) seeks an adaptable, articulate, highly-motivated person with at least three years of nonprofit communications experience to join our team and actively support efforts to improve our visibility and reach through online and offline channels.
- Job Type: Full-time
- Location: NDSC Center office in Roswell, GA or remote.
- Salary Range: $40,000 – 65,000 depending upon experience

Duties:
- Collaborate with the whole team to develop and implement communications strategies that promote NDSC’s programs, and policy and advocacy work
- Maintain a consistent brand and voice in all of NDSC’s communications.
- Manage and support creation of all print and electronic materials, including:
- Monthly e-newsletter for an external audience of members, partners, and supporters
- Regular program e-blasts
- Annual report designed to promote NDSC and our work to prospective members and donors
- Report templates, infographics, and other visual representations of NDSC’s work
- Marketing, development, and solicitation materials as needed.
- Event announcements, invitations, programs, and signage, graphics
- Maintain NDSC’s social media presence, including content creation and curation.
- Maintain CVENT Convention registration system and Convention web pages
- Manage NDSC’s website updates and changes.
- Coordinate and manage all communications projects (e.g. editorial calendar, campaigns, branding initiatives, etc.), including setting timelines, assigning roles, facilitating meetings, and liaising with external service providers as needed
Qualifications:
Required:
- Demonstrated interest in NDSC’s mission
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to respond adeptly to rapidly changing priorities and successfully manage multiple initiatives at once
- Strong interpersonal skills with an outgoing and open personal style
- Ability to work effectively and independently but also as a member of a team
- Demonstrated success working developing effective working relationships with staff, board members, and vendors
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time/task management skills
- Experience with online marketing tools, creating graphics, managing social media platforms, and publishing software
Preferred:
- Understanding and experience with individuals with Down syndrome and/or other disabilities and the community that supports them.
- Understanding of nonprofit management, infrastructure and capacity building
- At least three years’ experience in nonprofit communications, implementing strategies and developing online content
- Experience working with high-profile individuals and/or Boards of Directors
- Editorial or other writing experience
- Design expertise
