JOB DESCRIPTION
(Part-time, Independent Contractor)

Overall responsibility:

The Multicultural Program Coordinator Program will be responsible for a variety of program duties and must be fluent in both English and Spanish (conversationally and written).

  • Location: NDSC Center office in Roswell, GA or remote.
  • Position: Part-time, 20 hrs/week
  • Payment Terms: $24,000/year

Duties:

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Assist callers to the NDSC Center, regardless of their language, and manage a WhatsApp number, that can be accessed from any location.

2. Plan and moderate webinars in Spanish throughout the year.

3. Work with the Convention Director regarding various convention-related tasks, particularly, but not exclusively, related to diversity outreach efforts.

1. Prior to convention, provide registration assistance to Spanish-speaking attendees. Work with the Board committee to select workshops, send acceptance and decline letters to speakers, and provide workshop information to the Convention Director. Assist the Convention Director in securing translation/interpretation services and work with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure all Spanish-speaking volunteer spots are secured.

2. During the convention, oversee and support registration for Spanish-speaking attendees. Work directly with Interpretation Services to ensure everything is running smoothly, including distribution and retrieval of translation headsets. Coordinate Spanish speaker logistics.

5. Work with appropriate Board committees on the development and updating of Spanish-language and diversity-related resource materials, as time permits.

6. Expand the footprint of Spanish language documents and access in all platforms including website, social media, and outreach, as time permits.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree or higher preferred. Fluency in written and spoken Spanish and English required. Strong writing and relationship skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience related to Down syndrome and/or other disabilities.
